ryan visit - friday

Friday morning I head into work. My training gets done midday. So I pick up my first paycheck and leave early. Yay!

I meet Ryan in Georgetown where he's been shopping. He's just eaten but I'm starving so we go to another of Anne's suggestions Paolo's and I eat while Ryan has a glass of wine.

I order mushroom polenta and a side of mashed potatoes. Both are really really delicious. Another win for Anne's suggestions! Restaurant is nice and basic and almost totally empty at 2 in the afternoon. We chat over wine, wander around Georgetown for awhile and then walk the mile and a half through the cold to the apartment.
We unload shopping & work stuff and decide to head to the mall to go to Air & Space Museum. Take some pictures on the mall, tour the museum and then go to see the 3D Imax about the Hubble telescope. Super fun.

The video playing in this aircraft carrier display to look like a real life window view from the control area still had a mouse arrow on the screen. So I took a picture. I'm a dork.

After the museum we first cabbed to UStreet area to find somewhere for dinner. The place I looked up on Yelp had a 2.5 hour wait. So after walking around a bit we cabbed it to Adam's Morgan and ate at a restaurant called The Diner. I've eaten there with Anne on past trips and it's 24 hours and awesome. I had mini burgers and Ryan had chicken club. Both were super yummy.

After dinner we walked around Adam's Morgan. We find a coffee house, bar, lounge place with tons of couches.
